It’s great fun cooking with your kids! My eldest loves cooking crumbles, cakes and cookies. My youngest prefers curries, pasta and burgers. Here are some of our favourite recipes:

“I must have made these cakes hundreds of times – it is an all-time classic and with Nigella’s recipe all you need to do is throw the ingredients into a bowl and mix.” ~ Eldest son, Age 12

“I have made these cookies several times and every time they get better and better. You can use any type of chocolate or even a mix and it still tastes delicious!” ~ Youngest son, Age 10

“This is my favourite recipe – it is easy to make and tastes delicious. I always get compliments when I make it for other people. You can change the recipe by adding another fruit like pear, rhubarb or blackberry and by adding a spice like cinnamon or nutmeg to the crumble mix.” ~ Eldest son, Age 12

“Annabel Karmel is the go-to for quick tasty recipes for children of any age. My husband liked to make these when the boys were toddlers and they liked to join in too!” ~ Mum

“It is one of the first recipes I ever made – I am a big fan of jam and have tried this recipe with several flavours, including strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant.” ~ Youngest son, Age 10
Doves Farm Traditional Wholemeal Bread

“We all know brown bread is best however kids sometimes choose white. This recipe uses Doves Farm flour, which has a nice flavour and helps convert little taste buds to the healthier option.” ~ Mum

“Try to make the mixture in advance of cooking. Your first pancake may break or need to be thrown away but once you get going (with plenty of melted butter) your pancakes will be demolished by hungry sons, daughters and husbands!” ~ Mum
